ALL SeaSiders met for the second time
On March 18, 2009 the SeaSide team met officially for the 2nd time in Särö, Sweden. This meeting was connected to a visit to TUR Gothenburg taking place March 19, 2009.
The development of the common project logo has been one of the points on the agenda. The project partners have chosen and fine-tuned one particular logo out of four drafts which symbolizes the maritime character & maritime partner network and which will act as identification for all activities that are related to the project.
Moreover, after a few months of being active in the project SeaSiders exchanged information about the status quo of all three content-related components 3-5:
- Component 3:
The working group on museum network shortly introduced their joint exhibition concept presenting four topics within a common frame in order to characterize the common identity of the South Baltic area. Furthermore, they stressed that the practicalities and logistics regarding the exhibition still need to be clarified, such as the development of a production plan and the exhibition design. - Component 4:
The working group on traditional sailing started working on two different maritime event projects, such as a race event of historical ships “Cuttersharks from Denmark” to Germany and “Harbour Symphony”, a melodical arrangement of typhones of historical ships, bells of city churches & musicians at a festival in Gdansk. Meanwhile, both events have been successfully carried out. - Component 5:
The working group of tourism marketing is working on the intensification of a closer partner cooperation, development of tourist products and marketing strategies to address target groups. A sub-working group of this component dealing with the Maritime Atlas has presented a first concrete proposal on possible contents of the atlas that has the common goal to attract more international visitors.
On the second day of the meeting SeaSiders have attended the TUR Gothenburg in Sweden either as visitors or as exhibitors. Either way this has been a great chance to get in touch with tour operators not only for know-how exchange, which can be useful for planned product packaging, but also to promote their region as SeaSide destination.
