The Sailing Fleet of Klaipeda

Lithuanian Sea Museum’s section of the exhibition "1Sea – 4Stories" presents little known facts of sailing ships epoch in Lithuania. During the XVIII- XIX century Klaipeda sailing shipping reached the peak of its golden age and outlived the sunset. At the end of XIX century sailers were replaced by steamships.

The story illustrates the whole way of the sailers from their birth in Klaipeda till the sunset of their era.
